Presentation topics:
1. El sueño indígena - Sustaining Nawat Culture
2. El sueño indígena - Learning about Nawat Architecture
Before going to El Salvador with architecture school in 2019 I did not really have a picture in mind of what awaits me in the country. Already from the airplane through the landscape with its dense nature and rural and urban settlements had caught me. When we finally got in touch with the local people I constantly felt comfortable and welcome. Quickly I was fascinated and the will to learn more and to have a cultural exchange, especially with an indigenous culture, is a constant driver for the project "El sueño indígena”I am doing with Masha.

This is Andreas, who just finished his architecture studies in Copenhagen. Growing up in Germany, close to the town Augsburg, he moved to the Lake Constance region for his bachelor Studies at the Univeristy of Liechtenstein. Here he got to know Masha, his partner for the El Salvador project. Very quickly they found their common interest in a cultural approach to architecture. Starting off during a travel to Middle America the interest into the heritage of El Salvador with its indigenous communities stayed. These drivers keep on developing the project further and made it much easier to work on it together with a distance and during the global pandemic.
