Presentation topics:

1. El sueño indígena - Sustaining Nawat Culture
2. El sueño indígena - Learning about Nawat Architecture

I visited El Salvador in autumn 2019 together with my study program and I instantly fell in love with the country and its inhabitants. This inspired me to do a social project that would relate to El Salvador and their very rich history and culture and me and my friend Andi started the project "El sueño indígena".

This social project is aimed to help preserve knowledge about the culture, architecture, and language of the Nawat community in Santo Domingo de Guzman in El Salvador as the Nawat language speaking community is considered to be critically endangered.

"El sueño indígena - Sustaining Nawat Culture through architecture" - where we will focus on the traditional architecture of Nawat communities to show you their methods and materials for sustainable living. As a part of this talk, we will also present our proposal for their Cultural Centre.

Hope to see you there!

This is Masha and she in the process of finishing my Master degree in Architecture. Originally coming from Saint Petersburg in Russia, she spent 2 years living in the England, 4 years in Scotland and 2 years in Liechtenstein as she is really interested in travelling and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. She is very curious and eager to learn new things and try herself in various projects. This is why after visiting El Salvador with her university she was excited to start a project that would not just explore this country and their traditions but also attempt to help them with preservation of their heritage.
