Ebany Dohle, PhD in Linguistics, SOAS, University of London. Her main research interests include investigating how knowledge of the natural world is encoded in the Náhuat-Pipil language of El Salvador and how this shapes semantic, lexical and cognitive categorization processes. She has also investigated traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) as a factor in the conceptualization of indigenous identity for the Nahuat-Pipil. Her methods are highly interdisciplinary and she incorporates elements of ethnobotany, anthropology, architecture, art, and oral histories into her language documentation efforts. Ebany has field experience in South East Asia, Europe and Central America. She is also a director of Language Landscape, a language mapping tool.
